Zero Debris Platform

In order to make space safe and sustainable, the European Space Agency (ESA) accepted the Zero Debris approach by 2030. The goal is to significantly reduce the amount of debris in Lunar and Earth orbits by 2030 applicable for all programmes and missions in the future.

To reach this objective, ESA signed a contract with three European key players in the space industry including OHB. They committed to develop large low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite platform that will be aligned with the Zero Debris standards.

OHB Czechspace supports OHB System AG with the structural aspects of the design evolution and provides general systems engineering support.

Specifically, we assist with requirements engineering, with a particular focus on the requirements affecting the structural parts of the satellite. Additionally, we will facilitate the trade-offs necessary to identify optimal solutions for both the overall system and the satellite's structure. We will also make sure to define the technology roadmap for maturing any new technologies or equipment once they are selected for the design.

We are glad to be part of such an important ESA initiative.
